Programme’s Overview

Little Angels School provides a progressive, integrated curriculum which allows learners
to absorb and develop skills through a variety of approaches, as per their ability and age factor.

Pre-Primary

Pre Primary Section is the beginning for young toddlers from Age 4 to 8 years, developing the base of education including the following methods for overall development

  • Symphonics- Reading and Writing Program
    A special reading writing and language development program for building a strong foundation of English language by integrating phonics methodology into learning.
  • Number Magic
    A multi-sensory systematic approach – Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract (CPA) to develop Math skills & other concepts in learners.
  • Ability Building Program
    We develop ability building to develop learners mind to the many opportunities available to them and creates a mindset that, by using creativity and critical thinking skills.
  • Science Exploration
    Learners are actively involved in understanding science concepts through stories, puppets, live models.
  • Role Play
    Engages learners to understand the world, their family and people who help them. It enhances the growing language and expression skills.
  • Art & Craft
    With activities like painting, drawing, clay art and tissue art learners have fun as they learn and explore using their imagination with different textured material.
  • Puppet Show
    Puppet shows exposes learners to essential language and thinking skills.
  • Sensory activities – Sand Play and Water Play
    Learners learn to explore and investigate for themselves in a number of different ways essential by gross and fine motor development, eye hand coordination and relaxed exploration needs.
  • Show & Tell
    A learner urge to explore their world and environment is covered through Show and Tell techniques.
  • Motor Skills
    Helps develop both fine and gross motor skills, Enhances listening skills and pro-socialbehavior.
  • Field Trips
    Essential to support the learners growing exploration needs of their environment.

Yoga
For relaxation, rejuvenation, fun, and frolic for the body and mind, An effective transition for learners to relax their muscles.

The Academic Section of Little Angels School follows the curriculum of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS Board) an autonomous institution under the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India X th & XII th.

  • The Primary level helps engage the students in the learning process in creative ways. The subjects offered are English language, Mathematics, E.V.S., Computers, Brain gym, Art and craft.
  • The Secondary level introduces the students to the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Board subjects. It is a prequel to the actual NIOS level.
  • The subjects offered are English, Home Science, Catering Management, Mass Communication & DEO
  • The students will apply for NIOS only after completing 14 years and then appear for the NIOS Board exams as per the academic planning.
  • The Higher secondary level is for two years after completing the Xth NIOS.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • The two departments under the Functional Skills Section are Functional Academic & Functional Learning. The curriculum is an educational program with five instructional domains representing the major areas of life activities in which all individuals engage. The program’s focus is on the enhancement of independence through the teaching of functional life skills in the home environment, community and future work settings which are meant to prepare students for a normal life in the community. The instructional objectives are organized within five domains of instruction,
    representing the major areas of life activity. 

· Employment Skills:
-Skills which are necessary to procure and cope with the challenges faced in a new job environment , in the future. This includes vocational production of hand crafted soaps, scrubs, bath salts, candles, paper quilling articles, macramé decorative textiles, hand painted eco-friendly bags, pouches, sling bags etc. -In the implementation of the curriculum, the focus will be on the transfer

  • These are identified and defined below:
    · Academics:
    -Skills which represent an application of an academic skill (e.g., reading, writing, math) to a real life situation. This includes skills such as handling money, telling time, reading sight words, use of digital technology etc.
    · Personal Development Skills:
    -Skills that are necessary for one’s overall development, including personal information, personal care, personal safety and health care.
    · Domestic Skills:
    -Skills that are necessary to participate in home life in the community. This includes skill areas associated with meal preparation, shopping, house keeping, laundry and home maintenance etc.
  • Therapies:
    Occupational Therapy & Sensory Integration: These therapists use intervention to develop, recover and maintain the meaningful
    activities of the students. It focuses on gross motor and fine motor skills, cognitive skills, sensory integration, social-emotional skills and ADL training.
  • Speech Therapy:
    Speech and audiology department caters to the communicative and hearing needs of the students and thus enables each student to communicate effectively in his/her social environment. The students are given one to one training to enhance their language skills
    and functional communication.
  • Music Therapy:
    Music Therapy uses music interventions to accomplish individualized goals. The Therapy helps students improve their health in several domains such as cognitive functioning, motor skills, emotional development, social skills and quality of life using both active and passive music experiences such as song, dance and listening.

Perception:
Incorporates the ability to see, hear or become aware of something through their senses. It is an organisation, identification & interpretation of sensory information in the environment. It incorporates visual, audio and sensory perception.

Extra Curricular Activities

Excercises like Yoga, Taekwondo, Zumba dance and Judo Karate that combines body movement, mental focus and controlled breathing to improve strength, balance, flexibility and overall health. Along with these we also have physical training skating, basketball, Tabla also is an activity which increases body awarness & kinaesthetic development; it helps students develop graceful coordination and self-control. Playing rhythms improves listening skills and increases children and teens’ ability to focus for extended periods of time.
